Prepare Ahead of Time for a Stellar Application

Respond Thoughtfully to Written Prompts

You'll be asked to respond to the following prompts:

  • What are your goals and aspirations in art?

  • What words would you use to describe how you feel about art?

  • Tell us more about yourself. What else do you think we should know?

  • How would receiving this scholarship make your art dreams a reality?

Upload Three Original Art Pieces

Upload three pieces of art that show either artistic quality, personal persistence or learning during the creative process.

With each submitted piece you will answer the following prompt:

  • Tell us what you learned while creating this piece OR why you are proud of it.

*Note: File size must be less than 10MB each. Please use an online tool to compress files as needed. Each piece will be uploaded separately.

Scholarship FAQ'S

Do I need to be a current student to apply?

No! Both new and current students can apply for the scholarship. If you are a new student, you must also apply for The Academy program and have your in-person interview scheduled by the end of the scholarship application window to be considered a viable candidate.

Can a parent apply for their child?

No. Every student or potential student must complete the application themselves no matter their age. A parent can help guide their child through the application process, but they cannot do it for them. A child or teen that is willing to prepare for and complete an application is showing commitment, responsibility and effort — qualities we highly value at the studio.

Can I submit a scholarship application at any time?

We accept applications during rotating windows each calendar year. These windows are currently February 15 - March 15,  July 15 - August 15 and November 15 - December 15. The recipient from each scholarship window is announced approximately one to two weeks after the window closes.

How is the scholarship recipient announced?

If you are awarded the scholarship, we will contact you by email or phone. Otherwise all applicants will receive an email letting them know the results. As part of the application process, all recipients of the scholarship give permission to Accomplished Artist Studio to announce their name via our website and through email marketing.

How often can I apply for a scholarship?

You may apply one time every time the application window is open. This means that you could potentially apply up to three times each year. Current recipients of the scholarship can re-apply for a scholarship as their scholarship award comes to an end.

What's the best way to prepare my artwork for uploading?

You can prepare for the upload in one of two ways:

  • Simply snap a picture of your drawing with your phone or tablet. Be sure that the lighting is bright and that there is no glare on your paper. Usually natural light is best for a photo like this. Be sure to let your artwork fill the whole frame of the camera so that we get a good view of it.

  • Place your image in a scanner and print to your device. This offers a higher quality image. You can do this with a home scanner or take it to a print shop for assistance.

Once your artwork is uploaded on your device, be sure that each file size is less than 10 MB. You will upload each piece separately during the application process. Do not combine the files.

If the file size is over 10 MB, you can search online with the phrase "free image compression tool" to find a website that can assist you in reducing the file size.
